Greed! This disease is of a psychic nature, it has eaten deep into the souls of many Nigerians whose survival instinct is heightened even beyond the urge for blood by vampires. Material needs takes first place before any other thing. A place people celebrate national thieves, traitors but condemn the hard working man for being poor & mock women of virtue. Morally decayed in all things! Greed is a breeding ground for evil.
The propensity to smother, debase, slander & even kill the next man is so intense, for the average Nigerian it is irresistible for him to live without causing harm to another, for him it is survival at all cost, it does not matter who gets hurt. It is now a psychic plague! The environment is hostile to progress especially for those who choose to earn honest living by resisting this infectious disease.
The average Nigerian is in survival jeopardy masked in what many call "man must survive". Forget their religious affiliations, it is more to satisfy their social needs than to further their spiritual growth. Greed is every where! more concentrated in religious houses where the urge for it is heightened from the pulpit like an opium. They take a share from every fruit it yields.
Greed has eaten deep into their souls and taken over their senses. Like kleptomaniacs who can not just resist the urge to take especially when it is not given. It is in the air any one who is not conscious can get infected.
Nigerians accuse the other of corruption, just because sins bears different names does not make it different from the other. A sin is a sin. There is nothing wrong with wanting something healthy but every thing is wrong with not appreciating what you already have, earned with work or by grace. Every eddict, laws, decision made motivated by greed will in the end lead to total collapse of this potentially great country. That is why almost nothing works even when it does work, after all the resisting pressure from evil citizens it can not be sustained.
The urge to take, use what you have not earned, fornicate, cheat, jump queues, to slander, envy, hate corrupts the soul. Look into the eyes of the typical Nigerian it can not hide any more the symptoms of this disease are just too obvious. One who is Greedy in any and all forms is corrupt. One who lacks content can never make the kingdom of heavens.
The change we seek is not collective. This diseased state favours many who amass wealth for their generations unborn as if sure they will incarnate poor, while those who are not so favoured seek to be in the shoes of those who have been swallowed up & awaits annihilation, they call it "the national cake". Change will not come for as long as this demon called GREED continues to receive nourishment from the souls of the infected ones in this country.
Kill this demon and change will happen automatically. Kill your greed be the change!
One Love, One Nigeria!
